Cu Chi Tunnels and Mekong Delta in one day

Detailed itinerary

MORNING:

• At 7.00 AM (please don’t leave later than 7.30 AM), you will be picked up at your hotel by our friendly guide and driver. Then everybody spends 1.5 hour on the car with our guide’s introduction about Saigon and the war in an interesting way.
• 8.30 am : When arriving at the tunnels, you will be intensively led into the tunnels in about 1.5hour with our guide. You don’t have to crawl into the tunnels if you don’t want that, instead just walk on the surface under shady trees and on easy paths. During the visit, our guide will point out and tell you lots of interesting and touching stories about the war related to Cu chi area. You will also enjoy a common food for VC which is Boiled Tapioca dipping with Peanut salt mixture.
• 10.00 am : Get back to your private car and spend 2 hours to My Tho city. On the way, enjoy the simple but beautiful scenery of the Mekong delta through our guide’s talks.

AFTERNOON:

• 12.30 -1.00 pm : Arrive at My Tho Boat station and then get board our private boat straight to the local restaurant for a set menu lunch with all Vietnamese delicacies.
• Then, you will enjoy a 2 hour cruise around the Mekong river with some hop on – hop off to visit some local industries like bee honey farm, coconut candy workshop to witness how the locals make a living from coconut fruits.
• You will also immerse yourself into the village life by getting on a so called Vietnamese TUKTUK run by electricity around the village, eating fruits at someone’s home while enjoying traditional music and sitting on a little sampan to get along the small canal. By this way, you will understand and feel more deeply about the Mekong delta life.
• Get back to your car at around 4.00 pm after lunch and head back to the hotel.
• Arrive at the hotel at 6.00 pm and tour ends.

NOTE: We choose a much less touristy cruise route which is much different from all other agents taking you to touristic spots only. The most important and interesting part of the cruise is the LITTLE SAMPAN ROW – we make it longer on a quiet canal (at least 15 minutes). That’s why our tour is more expensive, more authentic, longer, more real.
